How could a man pull out a woman's intestine out of her body without a single pinch of mercy-Kerala's Rape Case Dilemma
Here we go again. Another sensation by the media which will bring the news to the entire world. A rape case, unwilling sexual act on a woman, forced insertion into her vagina and accidentally, highlight that word “ accidentally’ pulled out her intestines. How do you feel when you read this as the headlines? Scared? Gory? traumatized? Probably, but after some time we forget, get norm to it because it happened to someone who is far away from us and go on with our life.
That was exactly what happened to the Dehli rape case. At first the whole world was angry. We voiced out our anger, went on protest, lit up candles, felt sorry and all other emotional dramas we can put up but after the judgement what did we do? Someone worst than a beast walked out freely with a sewing machine and we just nodded in disagreement, and walked away. We gave way to the crime to evoke again. We did not handle the first one good enough that the beast awakened. A law student. She could be a future someone, could have been a good leader who would have made her country proud. Now she is dead. In vain. What justice will do for her? Her character will be questioned, her family will be thrashed with words, we will cut deeper into an already bleeding wound. Womankind will be pushed one step behind again.
Who is the reason behind this? Us. The world. To be more specific, the womankind herself. Why?
We warn our daughters not to wear skimpy clothes. Don’t go out late at night. Do not go out without the companion of a male. Don’t talk to strangers. Don’t this, don’t that. We teach the society to turn against women at every chance, at every crime. We try to correct the roots but not the soil that holds the roots together. When such incidents happen, each and every female in this world feels the pain. At least for a minute, we feel sorry and equally traumatized. A small fear builds up within us, every man we see on the road after that will make us feel insecure. We will be uneasy in our own skin. The fear teaches us to be afraid of crime, correct ourselves but it will not fix anything because a woman’s next step will be pulled back each every time such horror takes place. FEAR engulfs.
Look back carefully, what have you taught your sons? To respect woman? To not raise hand on her? To not harass her? To not look at her private parts like its allowed? Eve teasing? Cyber bullying? Verbal abuse? When all these so called small crimes happened, we let it go. We don’t even scold our sons because its just part and parcel of a boy’s life. Boys will always be boys. Then it accumulates over the years and leads to rape. Just like eve teasing, rape is nothing. Hurting and injuring are just part of teasing women. That’s the mentality these men grew up with. We let that bad behavior to grow into a beasty act because no one corrected your sons when they should have been. So instead of correcting your daughters all the time, teach some good lessons to your sons too. If they misbehave, punish them so that they don’t repeat it and grow up to be a rapist. Prevention is better than cure. Apply that to your sons also.
Together wake up and fix this. If a man has all the guts to pull out a woman’s intestine out from a body without a single pinch of mercy in him for the pain that she will go through, why cant we punish him the same way? Is hanging him to death gives the feel of the same pain? Repay a crime the same way it happened. Cut off his genital part, show it to the world, let each and everyone who felt the pain of the girl, feels the pain of the man who commits the crime. Teach your kids at a young age that when you commit a crime, you will be punished the same way or worse than the crime itself. Instead of allowing the fear to evolve inside a woman, let the fear of the punishment builds up inside each man who thinks woman deserves the pain men cause her.
If you commit crime which is beyond imagination, then you must be able to pay the same consequences.
Pay the pain with pain. Stop injustice towards women. Law must not be biased based on gender.
The next time a man thinks vagina is a key opening that he can simply use anything to break it open, remind him that his penis can be bent and damaged the same way too. Genital parts are not toys.
Plant this into everyone’s mind this time through the punishment that will be given to the criminals for Kerala Rape case. Don’t let another woman die in vain. Today its her , tomorrow it can be your daughter.
Don’t rest the case and give way to another brutal rape.
