How to Study Anatomy...
Anatomy is considered as one of the toughest subject
in medical student's life.It is so,but there are few steps that students can do
to make the learning much more easier to study and understand. Anatomy is
considered tough because there are numerous new words and term of human body
parts that have to be remembered. They are the steps that student should do to
overcome those problems.
Instructions
Step 1)Before you go through the notes, you should first see the
diagrams, picture of an anatomical part and try to remember the names of the
parts and position.
Step 2)Always try to make a connection with one part with another. All
those parts actually related to each other.Dont try to memorize all the
parts.Try to identify their name and location. You will remember more precisely
when you make a reading about the parts.
Step 3)Each terms in anatomy have its own meaning. If you knows the
meaning, then it will be very easy. For an example, orbicular oculi is a name of
the muscle. You can easily identify the location of the muscle by knowing the
meaning.Orbicular means anything related to eyes. So,if you know the
meaning, then you can identify the location of the muscle, around the eyes.
Step 4)As i mention above, before start to study,go through the pictures of
the parts. For this propose, you have to use a good atlas guide book .They are
few good book by great author such as 12th Edition Grant's Atlas of Anatomy by
Anne M.R Agur and Arthur F.Dalley or Apex Anatomy Viva Colour Atlas by Dr Javed
Yousuf or Mc Graw Hill published medical books. All those book contain imaginary
and lively pictures of organ, muscle, skeletal and body parts with the parts
names labelled.
Step 5) After go through the books, then start reading your text
books..Always try to read anatomy in a group of few students.Make a group
discussion regarding the topics.Make sure that you have do some reading about
the topics before attending a group discussion. It will be much easier to
understand if you study in this way.
