Food That Improve
Memory Power
Vitamin D
—has positive effects on cardiovascular health and may have
positive effects on cognitive function separately; the active form of Vitamin D
seems to be involved in brain development and in adult brain function.
Epidemiological data show that higher Vitamin D levels (>20 ng/mL or
50nmol/L) are associated with better cognitive function, but do not seem to be
associated with better memory performance.
Piracetam
— Piracetam
is a nootropic drug and a cyclic derivative of GABA. It is one of the
group of racetams.Piracetam improves the function of the neurotransmitter
acetylcholine via muscarinic cholinergic receptors which are implicated
in memory processes. It is effective for improving cognition in Alzheimer's
disease and senile dementia.
Dosage :800 mg twice per day to improve cognition.
Lipoic acid
—Lipoic acid is an organosulfur compound derived from octanoic
acid.It improves oxygen usage and antioxidant recycling, possibly
improving memory.Other than that,it also:
-Improve or prevent age-related cognitive dysfunction
-Prevent or slow the
progression of Alzheimer’s Disease
-Prevent erectile
dysfunction
-Prevent migraines
-Treat multiple
sclerosis
-Treat chronic
diseases associated with oxidative stress
-Reduce inflammation
-Inhibit advanced
glycation end products
-Treat peripheral
artery disease.
-Prevent organ
dysfunction
-Reduce endothelial
dysfunction and improve albuminuria
-Treat or prevent
cardiovascular disease
-Accelerate chronic
wound healing
-Reduce levels of ADMA
in diabetic end-stage renal disease patients on hemodialysis
-Management of burning
mouth syndrome
-Reduce iron overload
-Treat metabolic
syndrome
Blessed Thistle
—Blessed Thistle is a thistle-like plant in the family
Asteraceae, native to the Mediterranean region, from Portugal north to southern
France and east to Iran.It increases blood circulation, improving memory.
Ginkgo biloba
—Ginkgo biloba is a living fossil, as a unique species
recognisably similar to fossils dating back 270 million years. Ginkgo is
believed to have nootropic properties, and is mainly used as memory and
concentration enhancer, and anti-vertigo agent. The effect was almost immediate
and reaches its peak in 2.5 hours after the intake.
B Vitamins
—may influence cognitive function through an effect on methylation
and homocysteine levels, as excess homocysteine has been associated with
cognitive impairment and the B vitamins work to reduce homocysteine.
Omega-3
—linked to the
maintenance of brain function.
Isoflavones
—may be
related to cognitive function.
